From the top of the Chéry Nord chair lift which runs from Mont Chéry Village there are three pistes leading back down to the Village (one red and two black) and there are many more runs and lifts down the other side of the mountain leading from the summit to Les Gets and connecting from there to Morzine and Avoriaz. In addition, the Village offers a chauffeured ski safari service allowing skiers to explore a number of other exciting skiing areas all within 20-30 minutes by car. Planning permission has been granted to build a new lift on the west facing slope opposite the Village and a children's lift in the sunny bowl directly in front of Mont Chéry Village. This will provide convenient and safe skiing for young children and beginners. In the future there is also potential for further development of the skiing area with a link between Les Gets and Flaine (the Grand Massif) already anticipated. The location has an excellent snow record: the Chéry Nord chair lift and ski runs next to it have been open until well into April every year since Bekenn & Weston have lived in the area. The graphs below show how favourably the Portes du Soleil compares with other leading ski resorts in terms of snow coverage. |
